The college, once named as “Central Training College”, was established in Lahore in 1880 as pioneering institution in South Asia. It was destined to play a crucial role in the history of education in the region as it was once the only institution of its type from Peshawar to Calcutta. This college was affiliated with the Punjab University in the year 1903. The college became a constituent part of the University of Education in 2002.
The elegant building of this campus reflects a splendid combination of Geothic and Islamic arts of construction. There are two spacious libraries; the main library is a treasure of old and new books whereas the other has a large collection of theses and other research sources.
